Prior to forming his own firm, Richard R. Rodriguez was an Associate at the law firm of Nadel & Associates, P.C., a specialty litigation firm, where from 2003 to 2005 he handled all aspects of litigation in multiple areas, including real property, construction and commercial disputes. Additionally, from 2001 to 2003, he was an Associate at Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C., a highly recognized multi-city firm, where he handled matters relating to labor and employment, and compliance with ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act). Notably, Mr. Rodriguez was also a law clerk and summer associate with that firm.
While still in law school, Mr. Rodriguez already began gaining invaluable practical legal experience as an intern for the Tort Division in the NYC Law Department, which is led by the NYC Corporation Counsel. The Law Department is the agency responsible for all the legal affairs of the entire City of New York. While interning thereat, Mr. Rodriguez conducted 50-H hearings in claims against the City; investigated the satisfaction of notice requirements; and conducted settlement negotiations--all in connection with pending personal injury litigation.
Mr. Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University in 1998 and his Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 2001. While at St. John’s University, Mr. Rodriguez was a member of the Dean’s List and was also Captain of the St. John’s University Football Team. At Hofstra University, Mr. Rodriguez was the President of the Latin American Students Association and a member of the Entertainment Law Society.
Richard R. Rodriguez is admitted to the bar in New York State, and is also admitted to bars of the United States District Court in the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association.
